Clitoris question

Posted , 11 users are following.

Recently I've been having sort of aroused sensations on my clitoris everyday, when I'm just doing day to day things. I'm wondering if this is a sign of fusing of the clitoris, as it's all of the time. I remember reading on here that someone else had similiar but I can't find the thread again. I don't normally put steroid cream on that area, should I start?

Hi Jessicat. Sorry I can't help with this question. I'm newly diagnosed myself and turned to this site for help and advice. I'm sure somebody will get back to you with their thoughts.

The things that crop up with this condition are diverse and many. With me it started at the 6 o'clock position at my vagina. Now seems to be under some sort of control with steroid cream. However I now seem to have a sore bottom... Driving me nuts. Any advice received from anyone out there would be great. What best to clean with after 'going' for one would be excellent.

Hope you get some answers Jessicat x

    Hi,

I would put a very small amount of the steroid on any part that is giving you trouble.  Bathing every time you pee or poo is advisable, but don't use any product.  Bicarb of Soda is good to add to the water (small amount) because it neutralises some of the acidity and certainly soothes things.  Use warm water wherever possible but above all make sure that you can dry yourself well.  If I'm at home I often use a hairdrier (taking care) and reapply emollient cream while your are still warm.  I have even once or twice put the Double Base Gel on, then used the hairdrier.  This seems to be very soothing and works for me.  It is all worth a try and you will find your own methods of staying comfortable.  Good luck and I hope it calms down.  Also have a look at the link to Goldstein's talk, which I believe is somewhere on this website.

Thanks Margaret289. I'm going to invest in a small spray bottle to carry with me when out and about. I'll make up a solution with b. Soda. Thanks again for advice

I had been seeking answers with my clitoris in the past months. I also get an arroused feeling and pain on clitoris during sex. It seemed to get really bad after I first starting applying steroid to it so my Gyno told me not to put steroid on it. But that still didn't totally help. right now I have found relief by putting olive oil on it. I also sometimes put a tiny bit of steroid on the inside of the clitoral hood on the sides only. (My LS is on the sides of clitoris)

One lady on here said she had that feeling awhile before her clitoris fused. So I try to be vigilant with it. I have slight build up on the sides of clit that I'm thinking is LS skin and needs some steroid. But I also am suspicious that the steroid on parts of healthy clit skin was causing some of my irritation. Bottom line, since I use olive oil as a moisturizer, it seems to be better most of the the time.

I also use emuaid on the outside of clit hood. It's too strong to go directly on clitoris skin for me.

It's been a real journey for me to figure out how to treat it.

One of the ladies in here that was trying to help me gets relief about two days of applying steroid to it. Unfortunately mine has been more complicated but we are all different. Maybe it would work for you.

Ok thankyou for your reply, I've started using coconut oil recently so Might  start putting that on it. My LS seemed to be only on my labia minora but it seems like it's spread to the clitoris now as well.

That might have been me. Right around menopause the hood was tightening, creeping over the clitoris. My ignorant solution at the time was lots of vigorous soaping and scrubbing. Big mistake.

Then two or so years ago (13 years later) the inner labia stuck together over it and healed into a flat sheet of skin. I think I could have gently pulled the two sides apart and kept them really well-oiled.

So, it depends which thing is happening in your case.

I have had a look and can't see any fusing so it could be the tightening of the hood, but I can't see anything different about it. I'm 20 so nothing menopausal is causing anything, it must just be one of the many symptoms of LS. It can be quite upsetting having new symptoms popping up when you think things are under control

Yes, the sheer variety of symptoms is one of the bad aspects. And there seem to be several levels of severity as well. I had it early like you, but not so severe, so I bumbled along for 40 years with many of those years in remission. The good thing is you know what you have and you're treating it. The steroid ointments take many months to really settle things down. So the additional things we talk about here should help in the meantime.

Yeah I guess mine was caught quite early as I've had symptoms since last February and was properly diagnosed in October, but I was having treatment with steroid cream since August, and I feel like my symptoms are slowly improving. Yeah I've been using coconut oil that was suggested to me on here, and that has really helped. I'm really grateful I found this forum as I think I would have been lost without it

Me, too. Stress is a huge factor and having things we can do over and above the prescription removes the feeling of powerlessness.

I think this is vitally important, which is why this site is so important.  I just hope that there are a few doctors and nurses lurking here.

As someone else noted, one of the many unfortunate things is that every person with LS has it a little diferent.

What I've been doing is every time I use the bathroom I apply either viamin E (it's a new addition to my regime after reading so many use it), a tincture I made up (jojoba oil with essential oils of frankicense, niaouli and carrotseed...all supposed to help skin in some way, like cell regeneration etc) or a cannabi salve (made from the cannabis plant but in no way is related to the "high" THC part of the plant). Over the past few weeks I've been able to eradicate the white and bring back the pink. I've got an appointment with my gyno next week, so I'll be curious to see what she has to say.

Good luck, I'm sure with the help with everyone on here, you'll find your way with this awful disease.
