Clobetasol: Skin wrinkling on penis?

Posted , 3 users are following.

I have been diagnosed with LP and/or LS. I have been on clobetasol the past 10 weeks. Sometimes the skin looks like this - "wrinkled" and dark. At other times it does not. This has only happened with clobetasol.

Is this an effect of clobetasol? I've reduced the amount of clob I apply but still this happens. The appearance of the skin fluctuates greatly.

The past 2 days I ceased applying clob and the stinging sensation and redness/wrinkling went away (for the most part).

Any advice?

the dark you describe is post inflammation of the skin and the clob doing its job. It happens with my excema also. The dark will hopefully slowly fade, it sounds like you need the clob for maintenance. I use it twice a week as once a week wasnt enough. Have you been advised on how often to apply. The clob turned a white tide mark of L S to dark but it is now pink.

Interesting. My skin turns not only dark but the texture of the skin is not normal. At other times, however, it looks better. I am more concerned with the texture of the skin.

Here are pics of it looking "wrinkled"? Is that skin atrophy?

The day before it looked like this:

I was applying twice daily for 10 weeks. Not yet to maintenance (which makes me question whether clob is working well enough).

I would say twice a day for 10 weeks is too much - twice a day application would normally be for between 2 and 4 weeks then once daily for another 2 to 4 weeks, and potentially every other day after that, depending on progress and a return to healthy as possible skin. Have you actually had a Biopsy conducted to determine the actual condition you have?

The wrinkling effect you are getting is certainly very abnormal, and certainly should not be as a result of using the Clobetasol.

Are you currently seeing a skin specialist? If possible you need to be dealing with a Dermatologist that specialises in Genital Skin Disorders ......

I can't tell what is "true." When I go to the doctor it looks more like the second pictures (with the eye).
