Clonazepam

I am currently on .5 klonopin. I was on 1MG for 4 years. I decided to taper off because I was no longer having problems. Ever since I stopped taking the medication, I've had agoraphobia and severe panic. I am currently taking .5 but my family seems to think I need to go back on 1MG.

I had no issues coming off the medication, I just really prefer not to go back on a full MG. But I am having a very hard time. My most concern is, wondering if 1MG is a low dose or a high dose?

Does anyone know if 1MG is considered a high dose?

Thanks!

PS..IVE BEEN ON SSRI AND SNRI AND THEY DO NOT WORK FOR ME.

I've been on klonopin since i think 2011. Been on 1mg. Take 1 extra if needed. 1 is not that high. I know my uncle takes like 4 mg a day. He has epilepsy. Klonopin is not just used as an antianxiety med but also for epilepsy.

Thanks! I know some people say that 1mg is a high dose.

Ya I'm seeing other comments about it being high but that's if you take it 1mg multiple times a day. 1 mg a day is not high. Its actually one of the safer benzos to take. Tapering off is good and will not have as big of a withdrawal impact but its not hard to come of off. I was trying to research the ashton manual by the Psychologist and i couldn't find that she was backed up by any doctors.

I think with the Ashton method there is no tapering method for 1mg of klonopon. I just break a quarter off every few weeks. I’ve had no issues.

1 mg is quite a high dose. Your body got used to the benzos that’s why when you came off you feel panic . How did you taper ? I suggest you to google Aston Manual, the website is written by a psychologist who helps people to taper off benzos .

    I myself am on diazapam for 17 years . I couldn’t stop

I had no issues tappering. Coming off was easy for me. My question was regarding if 1mg is a high dose. Nothing about tapering.

It is a high dose. Glad to hear you don’t feel anything when tapering !
