Clonidine for menopausal flushes

Posted , 4 users are following.

Hello Ladies, Has anyone out there tried using CLONIDINE to help with (nuisance) night hot flushes during menopause? If so I'd love to hear from you. My GP has suggested I try it as I can no longer take HRT but I'd like to know more about it first if I can.

Thanks - LadyPink

Hi Ladypink, my Dr put me on those meds when I first started the change and when I ask him for more he did not gave me anymore that's all I can tell you...no idea why he never said but I think during the time I was on they help a bit but was not on them for very long.

Hi there, same as Maria said I was put on them at the start of the menopause for hot flushes and that, but for ME i can’t say it really helped that much, still had the hot flushes, so didn’t take them away, and think it may of been because of that why I didn’t keep them up... I can’t take HRT so just have to try and get on best us woman can, but who knows for you it may work, it’s a mater of trail and error to see what suits you, and what works for you, if you don’t try you will never know will you, good luck chic, I hope you find some thing that helps you, as not much fun the hot sweats, but neither is this crap called the menopause 😩..

Big hug, and keep talking on here as some one may give you some hope for this problem 🤗x

Hi there, I took it when I was also in the middle of hot flashes when I was giving it. I took it and it worked except that I didn't like is that since I already have low blood pressure I had to move around slowly like get up slowly sit down slowly move around slowly and I'm a type of person that moves around rather fast. I jump out of bed I don't just roll out of bed I also jump out of my seat I'm a go getter fast mover type of lady and so for this reason I didn't like that I had to slow down in order to take this pill so I told her to give me something else. Btw, the pill worked really well on me.

Hi Maria and Dawn, So kind of you to reply. As I've only just posted on this subject I'll wait to see if I get any other feed back on this drug although I may just give it a go and see what happens -if anything. (Can't take HRT, after being on a particular type of HRT pill long term - for 23 yrs - the consultants say it could well have led to me developing cancer of the uterus 18 months ago). Hey ho these things happen. Thanks again. LadyPink
