CMC Joint Arthroplasty with tendon reposition

Posted , 2 users are following.

3 months ago I had CMC joint Arthroplasty with tendon reposition   The first 2 months seemed to go great, except for the ongoing pain/spasm at the tendon site on forearm.  That area was always very sore and seemed to "spasm" at any movement.  Now that I have started the strengthening therapy about 3 weeks ago, I am in excruciating pain both at thumb area and forearm.  Is this normal?  The doctor told me from the beginning that the recovery is 6 -12 months.  But I feel frustrated that I am now experiencing more pain than before. Thanks for any info or encouragement  that you can provide.
