Hi Belleanne,
So sorry to hear you have been feeling so unwell. Glandular fever / mono is a horrible thing for sure. My experience with it was with the EBV virus but I know it can also be caused by CMV virus too, I'm not too sure if both viruses can cause different effects or if it's broadly similar, but I know they generally class it as the same illness so definitely commonalities there, and discuss with doctor if unsure.
I was the same when went through glandular fever about 10 years ago, I kept reading everywhere I should be recovered in 4-6 weeks or 6-8 weeks, but it went on for longer and I didn't know if it was just me - just to reassure that it is normal to feel so unwell and horrible and that you will most definitely recover - without any doubt. For some it can take a little longer than others, but don't panic because you definitely will get there and feel better again, I truly believe that.
Definitely worth considering take some vitamins and herbs, like a good strong multi-vitamin per day, B complex and co-enzyme Q10 are great for helping the nervous system and boosting energy levels, high doses of Vitamin C (1000mg-3000mg per day), Vitamin D (max daily dose) and also immune boosting herbs like siberian ginseng and echinicea a great help. These can really help in recovery and help your body cope - remember your body has taken a battering and needs rest - a common mistake people make is to keep working on through or going at the same pace of life as normal - that can really set folk back and if you take rest now it will help make recovery quicker without any doubt!
Thinking of you and message any time - and remember you WILL get better!
Craig

You're welcome Belleanne,
It's such a hard thing to go through, really is and just want to let you know am thinking about you and reassure that there definitely is recovery from that horrible virus, without any doubt - I know that doesn't help much when going through it at the time but keep that in your mind that this will all pass over with time and full health and body strength will return, without any doubt I truly believe that - trusting in God to guide you in that respect.
Hang in there and hoping for a good day for you.
Craig

I like you and am fed up with this!' Am so confused by all this!! All my symptoms started about a month after a dentist appointment so I think that is where I picked it up!! But dr said I don't have an active case but have been exposed to it, wait what?!! Makes no freaking sense to me! My results were:
Ebv igm<36, igg 447 and nuclear >600
I started out having neck pains then was diagnosed with strep end of June along with some major exhaustion!! The exhaustion has for the most part gone away but this neck pain has been constant, it feels like the back of my neck feels so full and hurts!! The sore throats comes and goes and have had pain in my left eye that I pretty much thought I had eye cancer, eye dr did full exam couldn't find anything!! Recently I noticed when what feels to be my lymph nodes swelling and they go down I start to itch!! Which everything online points to lymphoma but all my regular blood work came back great!! Except lymphocytes were low!!! It's now September and I have briefs moments where I feel normal again but then knocked down the next!! Ugh!!! This is freaking awful and I'm a working mom and have a 3 1/2 year to chase around at nights and weekends!! I'm praying for relief!! I have an appt with an ent Tuesday as it feels like I have a lump in my throat!! Lord help us all that are going through this and no one understands the misery of this!!!

Feeling your pain Jennifer, so sorry to hear you've had such an exhausting time of symptoms and worry. It really is the worst thing in the world going through that I am thinking about you and sympathising with you.
Take it as encouraging that all your blood tests came back as normal - this is a typlcal sign of glandular fever, other than the EBV test showing positive early on (and even that can not be the case in some cases), typically blood tests are all good despite symptoms feeling awful and terrible gland pain and low grade fever and exhaustion.
Key thing is to try and not worry, remember this is normal for the virus the symptoms you are going through. It's hard to accept that it just runs this kind of course and it can take a bit of time - so don't panic if things don't come right away, but they will definitely come good again and you will feel like yourself again, without any doubt Jennifer I believe that and yes definitely pray to God for help because He's the great healer!
