CO-CODAMEL

Hi People,

Have u any experience of c0-codamel for pain flare-ups ? My GP prescribed them as I cant take Ibuprofen, but reading about co-codamel it seems to have quite bad side effects for some people.

Also I am a bit worried re becoming addicted, which it says u can be.

Any advice much appreciated.

Tony

hello tony, and a merry christmas. about co-codamol it is a basic pain releif med, which mainly makes you constipated which is awkward to say the least but as your body gets used to it, it soon resolves itself. i assume you are only newly experiencing cs as you are on low level meds?. i myself am on oxycodone, which is a very very strong pain killer to say the least. try the co-codamol and see how you get on i take it for a frozen shoulder and tendonitis. keep your chin up and keep popping on here and let us know how you go,,,,, chris xx

Hi Chris, many thanks for advice. I have had CS for about 9 years but lstely the pain has got more constant hence the cocodamol. So long as I dont become an addict I will try it !!!! Hope u have a good Xmas. I used to live in Manchester, in Sale.

hello again,, as with anything else co-codamol is something your body gets used to, and you need ever increasing doses. if you feel you can cope with the pain then maybe it is best if you do without. i myself couldnt do without some pain relief , which has increased over the years until i am on such massive amounts. so please be careful if you dont want to get hooked. good luck and merry christmas xxx
