Co-codamol addiction & anxiety -anyone?

Hi. Im new and haven't posted on here before, I'm hoping someone might be able to give me a bit of advice 😊

I've been taking co-codamol 30/500 for about 4 years now I have recently been prescribed tramadol too, I suffer from chronic back pain, I'm only 24 & have 3 children and these tablets are literally the reason I can actually get out of bed some days, so I don't want to stop taking them but these last couple of days my pains been worse than normal and I've been taking 10 tramadol a day & 9 co-codamol. I looked on Google (stupid mistake) because I wanted to find out more about the addiction side of things .. well what actually came up was the horror of over dosing on paracetamol and I've been reading these posts and theres people on there saying that only taking 1 over the daily dose can cause liver failure and death .. I have extreme anxiety and because I've been taking 9 co codamol's instead of 8 I'm really worried that I've overdosed and I'm going have liver failure ? Is taking 9 likely too cause serious damage ?? I know yr not Dr's but hoping someone might give a bit of advice 😊 thanks for reading (if u do) x

Hi Beth. Your right... we are not doctor's. However there is slot of experience on this site that can give advice. If your not ready to give up just yet. And these reasons are your own and no-one can tell you any different. When you decide to come of these there are lots of people here who can help with that too. However until then.... Have you heard of cold water extraction? You can look it up. Or send me a private message on here and I can tell you how and why it's done. I won't post it on open forum just incase people see this as an option instead of quitting. It's never going to be a way out by doing this. Bit cutting out the paracetamol is definatly a step in the right direction.

    Hi Beth

You are right to be very wary of paracetamol. However if yu ask your dr to prescribe codeine on its own then there is no paracetamol in it. I am unsure about tramadol but u can google it.
