Co-Dydramol

I have been taking Co-Dydramol for many years with no problems and tend to use them more as a sleeping aid by taking 3-4 to help me sleep. My sleep pattern without Co-Dydramol. Fall asleep around 3am awake around 3:45. Should I be doing this as I need such a high dose now to ease the pain. Could I be looking at future problems?

Also I have started to take Gabapentin 300mg, three times a day. Is this safe to take with Co-Dydramol?

      Hi Christine.

When I take Co-Dydramol I take 4 per dose as I find the recommended dose helps very little. I know that your not suppose to do this because of an overdose risk along with the maximum dose of Gabapentin. Even now I am up replying to your good self at 5:20am as I have been going through most nights unable to sleep with the pain and discomfort. I am limited to what I can take due to the other medication that I take. In total I am on 9 different prescriptions not including pain relief medication.

    hi mark

im just like you with different illnesses so i have to be very careful on what i take the only reason is im on wafrin but do the dr's care about are pain do they heck i take 32 tablets a day mainly heart one's i get sick because i cant take inflamatory drugs im on ora-morph, co-drydomol, also i have to take parocetomol but darent tell him you not supposed to take them when on ora-morph so alternate them.

this is why i no you are fine with the gaberpentin with the co-dryomol as i said i only took half but couldn't tolorate it these are also used for epelepsy suffer's but tell me about the pain day in and out is no fun im like you i have to snatch sleep when i can i was up till 5 just before you replyed back and take sleeping tablets aswell some times i feel i could take all the lot of my pain killers but i daren't.

btw any long term tablets runs risks as you will no either the liver or kidneys but what can we do we don't have any other alternative but to still take them  we take them for a reason pain not like some that just take them for a buzz its them that get addicted no us

But taking co-dydramol as well as paracetamol is wrong any way, as you would be overdosing on paracetamol. But tablets I take 23 also a blood thinning injection as the tablet form doesn't work with me. If I don't have the blood thinner then I am a high risk for a full blown heart attack at the moment I am coping with the angina quite well. But without the injections my blood is like warm jam. They have to take blood from the neck as the arms are to poor. Dec 9th I am in hospital again for more surgery to the right ankle to save the foot due to poor circulation, this will be the 20th operation to save my limbs. From knee replacements to nuts, screws and pins to repair the damage. Not only that, I still have to go to hospital for test to see if I am still cancer free as I have had bladder cancer but recently been told that I have a enlarged prostate. So I am taking pills now to slow down my urine output now. But I keep myself in good spirits in the hope that around the corner will be the answer or a body transplant. (ha-ha)
