    No reason why not, it is not an NSAID. I was prescribed it recently for sciatica and I am taking pred.

    it was suggested that i could take paracetomol as a top up to pred. ido t know about co codromol.

    Do you have pain other than from PMR? If it's PMR (or GCA) pred is our painkiller. Codeine is somewhat addictive and if you take it all the time eventually you need to increase the dose to have the same effect. It also includes acetaminophen so you need to avoid taking that. If it's for a short term condition it should be fine.

    Yes - just watch out for the co-codamol effect of constipation! And don't take anything else containing paracetamol/acetaminophen .

    But why do you want to take it? If it is returning PMR pain you are better with a bit more pred.

    hi eileen just because i have shoulder pain in morning, but it goes once i move them, i am down to half mg pred, it dont feel like pmr pain. and in uk they are advertisinga new pain killer called flareing so thought i would try it i am really going slow on the drop at halfi will take a couple of month to get to nil so hope you are ok xx
