cocodamol and fibro

smile I have been taking 30/500 cocodamol now for 2 years to combat Fibromyalgia , also diazipam (2mg) sometimes at night as a muscle relaxant. I take about 8 every day at 6 hour intervals and although I am aware of the possible addiction and side effect of liver damage, at least they make my life NOW a little more bearable.

My only advice to folks taking this drug is to obviously get your GP to do regular blood tests and stick to the reccommended dose however bad the pain gets.

I dread to think back to the days before Cocodamol. I was on such a mixture of medication that I now have a Heart defib/pacemaker as the y caused arrythmia. So which is the lesser of the evils. I will stay on Cocodamol as long as I can and live each day as best I can.

Start on 1000 units daily of Vit D3 and take it up to 4000 units daily gradually and all your symtoms will disappear. What they call Fibromyalgia is actully an acute lack of Vit D3. No one tests us. You will start to notice the difference in a few days but please do it slowly. Get some sunshine and take Vit D3 in karge doses. It works. You won't need Cocodamol or any other pain killer.

I have fibro and arthritis - have had both hips replaced and am due to have ankle replaced. I have been taking co codamol for about 10 years as body and bone pain have been horrendous, and I am now suffering from urge incontinence which I think is caused by this drug. Co codamol was a godsend at first but now I think it habit forming and after reading all the messages on this site I feel I really must get off this drug.

THANK YOU - The tip of taking Vit D3 for fibro is a marvellous idea, I already take this in a small dose with Calcium prescribed by doc but I am going to try the larger dose. It really makes sense, I agree that docs do not know what to do with you when you have fibro

Maybe I can get my life back and be happy and outgoing like I used to be before all this.
