Coconut Oil

Just wanted to put this out there for all that have oral lichen planus disease. I start taking coconut oil soft gels about 2 weeks ago. 2000mg in the am and 2000mg at night, I also started applying organic coconut oil to my lips as a moisturizer due to the fact I had it on my lips and they always felt chapped and had that white lining to them. Well just to let you all know I'm about 90% cleared up. I forgot what normalcy felt like in my mouth and on my lips. It is amazing and I'm hoping it continues to clear up 100% granted I do realize this could come back at anytime but for today I wanted to let you all know that I do believe that this coconut oil does seem to working for me. Could be just a fluke, but I'll take it.

Good luck everyone, I know this disease is an ugly one. The ulcers in the mouth and in my throat over the past 6 months have been horrific. So I know the pain that's comes with this as well. I hope my luck with the coconut oil is as lucky for you all as well. Now I'm just praying it doesn't come back smile

Thank you, I will try this tonight (with regular coconut oil).  Been using the steroid mouthwash, but still have an awful, large, painful ulcer near my rear molars and I have to have a crown removed and replaced there this weekend.  Fearing the dental work will only aggrevate things even more.

No luck with the curcumin yet.

Awww, I hope your crown work goes well.  That's tough even when you don't have OLP.  I have to get one next year sometime and I am dreading it.  Let me know how it goes for you.

The OLP back there (lower rear molar area) has been so bad for the past 3 years (except when I was on the pred), that it has eroded the gum around the rear molars.  So, he wants to op it off and see if there is any erosion of the tooth stub too.

I always had almost perfect gums until this crud.  I was the good one who always brushed and flossed religiously, so I get this.  The inside of my checks is all rough and scarred feeling too.  Patchy white.

    Thanks for sharing.

In my current episode I now have raw areas on the lower lip at the junction. I was using olive oil and later changed to virgin cocounut oil as a lubricant to stop the lips from getting glued. it appears to be working and am having some relief. Best part is it applies easiy without ay effort unlike pharmacy preparations.

It is healing very slowly and am waitig patiently for the lips to get its outer skin layer.
