Many of us use many different moisturisers at different times and its kind of trial and error. Use what makes you feel soothed for as long as you can. Over the years I have used pure olive oil, then coconut oil, Emuaid (bought at great expense from usa, then Fatty Cream (an emulsifying cream) for a while. Latterly its been pure Emu Oil from Australia, thats working for now. Then suddenly it wont, and back I'll go to the drawing board.

As long as you use your topical steroid when you are advised to by your specialist, then you will hopefully find the best cream that suits you to keep things from drying out and sticking etc.

No two people are the same with their regime. Good luck in finding yours.

hi...my vote definitely coconut oil as it is anti-bacterial and olive oil is not...but my all means whatever works for one does not work for the other - SO - experiment!!!!!!!!

definitely not coconut cream. but pure organic coconut oil is great. i personally need to alternate products so my skin doesnt get used to it. many have reactions to the coconut oil as well as the evoo so i suggest trying both and alternating. i also highly recommend trying aquaphor occasionally as a protectant if the skin ever breaks but your skin cant breathe well through it so only sometimes.

    Rachel,

This is good advice here, to try different things. Everybody's chemistry is different. Whatever you do, putting something internally is an added risk so make sure your hands are clean even if you think they are, wash them again. I would switch off between Extra virgin olive oil and coconut oil. Make sure you haven't bought genetically modified oils. Look for that on the label. I have not tried emu oil, as I am in the states and it is not easy to get.

Some get relief from borax and baking soda splash or rinse after urinating. To try that get a quart bottle and fill it with clean (Preferably distilled) water, no flouridated water, and put 1 teaspoon of borax in it and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda. Shake until the powders are dissolved. Dab it on with toilet paper or let it run down after you go or get a small spray bottle. Best wishes.

Rachael- I found that the olive oil had a burning effect, I prefer coconut oil for everyday moisturizing and emuaid for moisturizing during a flare.

    Rachel,

Pure emu oil is safe to use in the vagina. I prefer it to coconut or olive oil, it's a bit thicker and I feel like it absorbs better. I use the one by Emu Joy, as well as the cream and pain salve that comes in the

    LS kit.
