Coeliacs but confused please help

Hi, I was diagnosed with Coeliacs, not due to symptoms but because I was tested when my father was diagnosed with it. I am following a gluten free diet and have for 2 years now but I am confused that I have (not knowing till after) eaten gluten on a number of occasions in quite large quantities and had no reaction at all. My doctor wont investigate and says its all fine. But surely I should have symptoms if I eat it. It would help me to know that others too have little to no reaction physically after eating it as I am getting v worried about non-responsive coeliacs or something.

Thank you in advance,

Kaylou

Hi, I can here trying to find answers myself. I gave up my "gluten-free" diet when I was about 13 and for the last 15 years I have been eating whatever I want and not noticing any symptoms like I use to when I was 9 or 10. I was like one day the coeliacs just turned off and I was cured. My doctor reckons I still should stick to the diet despite not having any major symptoms.

Have followed gluten free diet but sometimes "cheat" n will eat gluten maybe twice month. Feel really guilty but can't stop myself. Past 6 months have ate gluten with no symptoms. Confused but have googled this can happen but still incurring damage to intestines
