Coil recommended for lack of periods!!!!

Hi all friendly advice required please!

Im a 34 year old female, with no children, i dont smoke, dont take drugs, rarely drink alcohol and i eat a balanced diet.

I suffer from Graves disease & had a total thyroidectomy early 2020.

I havent had any kind of period, no spotting nothing for at least 4 years. Every time i speak to a doctor about this they blame my thyroid issues & yes unfortunately my thyroid levels are still unstable despite being on medication...BUT at the times my levels were ok i still had no bleed.

I moved areas at the beginning of the year and registered with a new practice, i spoke to my new GP and she ran a whole array of blood tests all of which she told me came back normal aside from my platelet count which came back slightly high, she wasnt interested in this even though this has been the case since 2019.

Anyhow i spoke to her today as she told me she'd contact gyaecology for advice & i was absolutely horrified that her "advice" was that i get fitted with a coil!!!!!

i flat out refused and told her i need to be seen by gynae so they can actually get to the bottom of the issue not just mask it.

please tell me i was correct in being horrified at this "advice"
