Cold feet

I read today`s article by Dr Sarah Jarvis on Cold Feet. I am a 63 year old male and have had mild MS for over 30 years. For the last 15 years have suffered from a cold left foot when the temperature drops below about 23C. It is getting progressively worse and in winter feels if my foot is in the freezer. I use a hotwater bottle when at my desk during the day, heat pads when I go out and wear socks at night. The medical profession has yet to find an answer. Any suggestions ?

Similar here, at times GP couldn't feel the pulse. Had dopplar scan done for blood flow in leg and all was fine, MS causes peripheral artery's to constrict like what happens in bitter cold for normal people. I've also had chill bains on the foot and goes darker colour in winter months,

My history is similar to yours. i always have cold feet at bedtime and wear socks. My doctor always felt it was a sensory issue. it is typically a circulation issue and can be associated with Raynauds (which also affects hands). My husband has that and affected are turns white. He just toughs it out. i think in the feet it is also related to veins and neuropathy. that can be tested with EMG and if painful too they have several medications.

Also need to be aware that lack of movement doesn't help with circulation, muscles contracting help with good circulation round the body.
