OMG, it's 85 degrees F here, and I'm wearing long pajamas with a blanket on.

I have been in perimenopause for about 5 years now, and the hot flashes have been pretty intense, but slowing down a bit recently. Just in the last few months I've been experiencing having cold feet and sometimes hands, even when I'm having a hot flash. So weird! Maybe it's a sign that my hormones are changing again? I haven't had a menstrual cycle for 6 months, so fingers crossed!

    Hello Mary,

'As estrogen levels drop, the hypothalamus – the part of your brain responsible for regulating your body temperature – gets overactive, releasing chemicals that alert your body it’s overheating. The body sheds heat, whether you want it to or not, and boom, Cold flash. they are very common, I’ve been postmenopausal three years now and I still get them. I actually enjoy them... LOL... as I run hot 😉
