Cold feet and ear ringing?

Posted , 6 users are following.

Just passing 8 months now and although the fatigue is getting better, my feet have been getting so cold to the point where they discolor and my right ear is still ringing. Anybody have similar symptoms?

My feet where extremely cold when I first got ill. It didn't last that long. The ear ringing though I still have that otherwise things are more or less back to normal.

Hey Josh, i've been following your symptoms as well and they align quite close with mine in terms of time. Have you had any muscle twitching? My doc decided to put me on doxy just to make sure it isn't Lyme.

Hey Josh, was just wondering how you were doing today and wanted you to know I'm still believing in your recovery from this awful virus. Remember to rest when you need to, I wish I had a dollar/pound for every time I needed to just rest when going through this thing and just hope and pray to God that I would feel better.

It can be so hard to stay optimistic and to see the light at the end of the tunnel when it goes on for so long, but truly you will get there Josh - hang in there - better times and good health is ahead for you, I strongly believe that.

    Hi Roy,

So sorry to hear you are having these awful symptoms and are going through mono, I just wanted to let you know I empathise having went through a tough time with mono many years ago and just to encourage you that things do get better and you will get there and back to full recovery.

For me it was about 10 months I started to see a change and really start to feel was moving towards full recovery, thanks to God only, but I remember at about the 8 or 9 month mark having a tough time with horrible joint and muscle pain, weird bruising, so all sorts of weird things can still be happening to your body at this time. Looking back I think it was my body giving one final push to kick this virus out for good at that time, that may be what's happening with this cold you're getting too Roy, that your body is pushing to kick this thing out for good, hoping and praying for that.

Taking vitamins and herbs certainly helped me during recovery, a good strong multi-vitamin per day (I take Immuance Extra here in the UK), higher doses of Vitamin C (1000mg per day), a B complex vitamin per day and/or co-enzyme Q10 (great for energy levels and nervous system) and immune boosting herbs like siberian ginseng, echinacea, oregano. Of course I'm no expert on vitamins just going on things that helped me and my own research, always important to check for any interactions with other conditions or medication before taking any supplements, and checking in with doctor or herbal specialist which I found helpful too.

But most importantly wanted to encourage you that things will get better! My experience was the Year 2 was SO much easier than the first year, one of hope, recovery, healing, and just feeling grateful that I wasn't feeling as awful as I did during that first year which was so tough. There is hope and God is the great healer! Thinking about you Roy and message any time, the forum on here is really good lots of good folk who truly understand how awful physically, mentally and emotionally it is to go through this virus - hang in there and message any time. I truly believe you are going to get back to full health with a little more time, just one day at a time with this thing though and remember rest when you need to and just look after yourself, drink plenty of water, eat well, etc. Hang in there!

Thanks for the kind words Craig. Just wanted to know, when did you feel like you were 100% back to normal?

      Hi Roy,

It was about 12 years ago now that I went through mono, it's hard to remember everything exactly clearly, but I do know that I really started to see a major improvement and shift towards the end of that first year, and that the second year was one where I felt so much more able to live a generally normal and full life again, thanks to God only. I would say during that second year I still had to watch about not overdoing things or going at 100mph all the time, but my body resilience had returned mostly and was able to do most normal things again without feeling so awful for it afterwards like during much of that first year.

Again it was only down to God I was able to get through it, it was such an awful thing to go through and I really do empathise Roy - I know you must be weary and drained after 8 months of this, but I absolutely want to reassure you that there is hope and recovery ahead with God's help and I truly believe that you will get back to full health again and that you've been through the worst of this and that peace and better times are ahead - hang in there!

      Hi Katelyn,

Just wanted you to know I'm still thinking about you and rooting for you, and also just to encourage you too that that things will change for the better and you will get back to good health again. For me that major breakthrough and turning point came at around the 10 month mark, hopefully it will come quicker for you Katelyn but the thing I truly believe is that most definitely it will come and that ALL of these horrible symptoms, the shakiness and fatigue and everything will go, and as you start to feel better the anxiety will lift too. This thing really does knock your confidence for six and it takes time to rebuild again, but you will Katelyn, just give yourself all the time and space you need right now and don't put any pressures or expectations on yourself - you've been through such a tough time but you are going to get better, I still completely believe that and remember God is the great healer!

Hang in there Katelyn, this thing is horrible but it really does get better over a period of time.

not sure why it didn't post before but Raynaud's Syndrome can cause discoloration in the cold. it's worth taking to your doctor about.

The weird thing was that the foot discoloration and feeling cold almost happened over night in the beginning. I was told by the way it discolored that it wasn't Raynauds so i guess time will tell.

I heard that the doctor checks your nails under a microscope, put special thermal tap on your fingers or just straight up dunk your have in cold water to diagnose. I'm too silly for those things and I would totally crack up or make an Edward Scissor Hands joke with the finger tape!

Glad to hear you don't have it. Have they warmed up yet?

Weirdly, they've always stayed cold unless i'm under a blanket. I think it just might be a circulation issue.

      Hi Roy,

I've read that herbs like ginger root and gingko biloba can help with circulation issues, maybe worth looking into - always wise to check in with doctor or herbal expert in these things though and watch it doesn't interact with anything else you are taking or other medical conditions.
