Cold medications

I have had a cold for the past few days, but was told by the chemist not to use any of the cold medications that I normally take as they cause high blood pressure. What she suggested instead has done nothing, so does anyone have any recommendations?

I very much doubt the cold meds would have done anything anyway, reckon most of them are a 'catch- penny' anyway. Good old fashioned homemade honey and lemon, made with raw honey and not too hot water is very soothing and paracetamol for the grotty feeling, always works for me.

What is more concerning to me is the fact that this cold is lasting so long?

BTW what the chemist told you - all kinds of meds can raise your BP, having a cold can raise your BP, stressing about a cold - or anything else, can raise your BP!

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Thanks, you're probably right. I do feel better today, in spite of not taking anything, which is about the normal run of a cold for me. I'll try the honey and lemon next time I start feeling bad.
