Cold sore stuck in blister phase, hasn’t gone in over a month

A month ago I kissed someone who a few days before had had a cold sore. A few days later a raised blister started to form with red dots on it, thinking it was herpes I lathered zovirax on it for about 10 days after, it never broke and just stayed in that blister phase. During all of this I had extremely sore lips and developed a bit of a mouth infection, with my top lip also developing white patches. I'm assuming this was my primary reaction since I had never had a cold sore before. Now its a month gone and the sore is still there, its also still got the red dots on it which I've been told means the virus is still active at the site? The red dots are also all over my lips. Has anyone experienced or seen anything like this? I've read that primary infections can last up to 6 weeks. I'm afraid my lip might be scarred permanently. I've been trying to upload pictures but I keep getting told the file size is too big, I'll keep trying.
