cold sores

I am a 55 year old woman and had my first cold sore at about the age of 7. They have plagued my life! However, about 3 years ago I had one on my butt. I knew it was one as all the symptoms were the same and I even had it checked out by my Dr.

The last 6 months I seem to have one after the other. Always on the same cheek. As I type this I have 6 all at various stages. Im just glad they arent on my face anymore.

Of all the articles iv read no one has ever mentioned cold sores on butts!

Anyone else out there?

Hi Dr Ashworth here Yes it happens - I have seen it a few times - if I was you I would seriously look at the possibility of taking medication for 4 to 6 months continuously to see if you can bring your problem down to a lower level

Are you really well in general ??

I use 100% DMSO with a Q-tip to successfully stop a fever blister.
