Has anyone else experienced cold sweats in the night? I am on 75 mg for about 6 weeks after upping from 50g. I have started to wake up drenched in a cold sweat.

    Hi Jenny,

I have been on sertraline now since Sept 2016 and did not get any sweats until I increased my dose to 150mg. since doing this I have suffered from terrible night sweats, where my bedding is soaked through and I also suffer bad sweats throughout the day. I can shower and dress and within 15 mins I will have sweat patches it's so embarrassing. my gp wants me to Increase my dose to 200mg but to be honest I'm scared to as I'm fed up with all the sweating. I hope it gets better for you and is just a temporary side effect but I've had this now since September last year.

I used to have slight sweating when I was younger but it stopped. Nothing like this though I have to strip the bed after a night sweat and through the day I'm constantly sweating under the armpits, no matter what the weather.

Hi, I have had the sweating problems since starting on sertraline the end of November, it slowly tapered off and stopped completely a few weeks ago, but I was unable to stay on the same brand (accord) due to chemist not having any in my area so I changed, and the sweats have come rushing back with a vengeance, it's like waves, I'm sweating badly then cold chills, constant jumper on jumper off, but as I'm nearly feeling back to "normal" it's a compromise I'm willing to put up with,

hope it all settles for everyone

    regards Matt

Unfortunately thats one of the main side effects of most antidepressants. Even after two years, i am constantly sweaty, hot and clammy. I drive my family mad, open windows, turn central heating off. I have to change my pjs at least twice during the night and change my bed daily.

I meant to add i have an appointment with my doctor to discuss a tapering plan to come off sertraline completely. The constant sweatiness and feeling hot and sticky, both day and night is too much.

Its embarrassing, 5 mins after a shower i am wet. My hands are always hot and sticky and wet. I have had enough!!!
