Cold weather: Short of breath, lightheaded, throat and chest discomfort

Posted , 3 users are following.

Since the temperature have dropped dramatically this month, I have been experiencing a lot of breathing difficulties and dizziness.

It seems to come on and off; mostly when it is freezing cold. I just walked in the 0 degrees celsius with decent amount of layers and as soon as I step in my house, I felt a bit fatigue, short of breath and dizzy. It has also caused mild chest pain.

Could it be the cold weather or something else?

Very cold weather often makes things worse.  Wear a mask or a scarf across your mouth and try to breathe warmer air.  It may help.

Dear Advise, Not really much to go on so far. You say it has been this month, so about 6 days. And it comes on when you come in from the cold. It all a bit odd. Sometimes things like anaemia can cause dizziness and feeling fatigued. If it persists go and see your GP to explain the whole story. They will have you past medical history as well and that might give some clues e.g.are you on any medicines that might be doing it?

By this month, I also mean January. It just still feels like January sometimes haha.
