Colles (Radius) & Ulnar styloid fracture/ligament injury

Has anybody got experience of fracturing their ulnar styloid as well as their radius?
I fell nearly 2 weeks ago and diagnosed with Colles Fracture in A&E. They put wrist was in plaster back slab, but when I went to Fracture Clinic I was told that I also has fracture at end of ulna and this meant my ligaments were damaged. When they put a proper cast on it was up to my armpit and my wrist is in a very uncomfortable position so even though the fracture pain is improving I have almost a permanent muscle ache in my wrist and arm.
If you had this injury can you tell me more about how you coped with the cast, how long you were in it for and how well you recovered and got back to 100% function. Didn't really get all the info at previous appointment as I didn't understand the cast I was getting when i was in with the doctor!
Thanks

Uuuggg double yuk, gemx 1, never had one of those, but had a wrist cast, and I know cast are a pain in the rast, think you just have to endure it, if you feel inside that it's healing, guess that's positive, no pain, keep going, no itching, I would jam a coat hanger down mine, but not recommended, ask your doc about relieving that issue, all I can say gemx1, like the old Indian man in the movie, outlaw Jose Wales, said ------ endever to percerver, I feel your pain, I'm giving you a yeee haaa ,cocka doodle doo, quadruple, cyber million megawatt, super energy healing fiberoptic pulse wave, yeah,!!!!!!OK🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡ttfn

HI gemx,
Almost 2 years ago, I broke my ulnar bone, obliterated my radial head and every single bone in my elbow. I also demolished my collateral/lateral ligament. I essentially spent 6 months in the exact same cast you have. The pain in my wrist got so bad that they had to replace the cast 2 times. However, I was told that this was the only position the bones would heal properly in. I ended up with a radial head replacement, multiple plates and screws and a reconstructed ligament. I will never regain full use of my arm, and was left with CRPS, but i am darn close to full movement.
The wrist pain will get better quickly when that cast comes off. I also had broken fingers so that made it a little worse. You got this. Sending you love and light.
