Colon cancer getting worse?

Posted , 8 users are following.

I have posted my story before I'm 27 since September/October ive had rectal bleeding & moderate-severe abdominal pain which hasnt eased at all change in bowel habits and also consistency going more frequently about 2-5 times a daylow iron high CRP most other bloods were good (test was done in early January, how often should they be checked?) I've been waiting to see the specialist since October my appointment is in 3 weeks which I'm very keen for on Sunday I woke up with a sore throat but not hurt to swallow I went to the dr he said I have swollen nodes and my throat was very red so he said throat infection should be right within 3 days take antibiotics anyway today I woke up with a swollen bruised inner elbow and swollen back of neck, I'm absolutely a wreck that I have cancer and I'm going to leave my daughter behind could all these swollen lymph nodes be due to colon cancer? Sorry for the long read

Try not to worry to much-You are finally getting to see someone who is a specialist in this and I am sure if there was any doubt you will be sent for a Colonscopy pretty quickly.

I have had various problems since before Xmas and have had loads of different tests.

Strangley my GP would not give me a FOBT test(something about not enough to give out and my age-I am 39)

So I did on I bought online and it came back positive!

Still the GP didnt seem concerned.(instead did a stoll test to check for inflammation in the bowel-waiting for results whcih can take up to 6 weeks)

I paid to see a Specialist and he has referred me for a CT scan.

However in light of the positive FOBT I do feel a colonscopy is something i need-more for my peace of mind so am going to push for that once my results are

    back.

All the waiting around adds to the worry and the worry adds to the symptoms-its crazy!

I know what you mean that's crazy that he didn't seem worried! I feel like so many doctors don't seem to worry so much if your under the age of 50 which to me is crazy I read a few stories where there gp said the same thing and they ended up with stage 3 or 4 bowel cancer I know reading about it isn't the best thing to do but I like to know what I'm in for and understand what's going to happen. My specialist has recommend I have a colonoscopy and endoscopy so I honestly agree and want to do it also for peace of mind as it's always at the back of my head and I really want nothing more than for this to be all over so I can get back to being healthy and move on with the rest of my life and honestly going through the previous cancer scare has really opened up my eyes to how important my health really is I guess you take advantage of everything until something like this happens and really makes me have a different perspective on life so if I come out of this ok I'm definitely going to live every day like it's my last ! I've already made major changes after the last cancer scare and other health problems like eating healthy and exercising more and I'm happy with my progress I just hope this doesn't mess it all up !

I am glad you are getting scoped both ends!!!!!!!!!-lol

I feel just like you do-I want a end to all this worry.

I too feel as though I should be living and enjoying each day to the full and have also made changes here and there to be more healthly.
