hi everyone.

I had the HP bug about 2 years ago and had usual treatment and was fine but recently all the symptoms have returned.

I feel so Ill some days I cannot function at all. the nausea is unbelievable along with a dull tummy ache. the fatigue really gets me down.

I went to the doctors a couple if weeks ago and he said that HP bug doesn't usually cause any symptoms!

he just upped my omeprozole and said I had an ear infection!

I really feel as though the bug has returned with avengance...is this possible.

help!! I feel so ill.

    It may be that the H-pylori and Omeprazole has caused you to become Vitamin B12 deficient thus causing your fatigue.

    Symptoms of B12 deficiency tend to develop slowly and may not be recognised immediately. As the condition worsens, common symptoms include:

    Weakness and fatigue

    Light-headedness and dizziness

    Palpitations and rapid heartbeat

    Shortness of breath

    A sore tongue that has a red, beefy appearance

    Nausea or poor appetite

    Weight loss

    Diarrhoea

    Yellowish tinge to the skin and eyes

    If low levels of B12 remain for a long time, the condition also can lead to irreversible damage to nerve cells, which can cause the following symptoms:

    Numbness and tingling in the hands and feet

    Difficulty walking

    Muscle weakness

    Irritability

    Memory loss

    Dementia

    Depression

    Psychosis.

    Ask your doctor to test your serum B12 and Folate levels.

    I am not a medically trained person but I've had P.A. (a form of B12 deficiency) for more than 45 years which was caused by surgery following a perforated stomach ulcer way back in 1959.

      thank you I will definitely follow this up when I return to see my GO for my test results next week.

    Hey Karen!

    I completely understand what you’re going through. I had hpylori 3 years ago and got treated for it. It took a few months but I gradually got alright and was completely normal. Since last 3 weeks I’ve had all the symptoms I had three years ago. I made an appointment with my GI doc. You should get a second opinion if your doctor says that hpylori won’t cause any symptoms because it most definitely can!
