Has anyone else taken 80 miligrams of citalopram? I am down to 20 , started coming off on 12/18/2016! Feel achy, but ok! On the 80 I was feeling fatigued and couldn't sleep! My Doc kept increasing from 20 to 80! I was on for 3 years, needed to get off ! I am 67 years old!

Wow - 80mg! I'm not surprised you were unwell. I thought max dose was 40mg. How are you now, perhaps you need to reduce more slowly x

80???? Blimey - 40mg is the maximum dose in the UK as set by the Drugs Regulator back in 2012. Anything above that is considered dangerous as it can cause abnormalities that can affect the heart.
No way should any doctor be prescribing that - as Gerrymoo says, I'm not surprised you felt unwell. A lot of people struggle to cope with 40mg.
Withdrawing from this meds is best done by 5mg over 1 month at a time to avoid withdrawl. I took a year coming off 20mg.
Change your doctor.
