coming off

I have been on 25 MG ami for past 4 weeks for tension headaches. I tried upping it to 50MG last week but it caused the room to spin. MY neurologist told me to stop taking them. I asked if I should slowly stop them, he said no need as I didn't take them long enough. I did not take one last night and I notice I have some anxiety today. ANyone else have similar affects?

Hi Shauna, I have had amitriptyline for a while now. Personally I wouldn't just stop but decrease gradually. I have come off a couple of times and always slowly. I know you havnt been on them long but you want to make it easier for yourself. Xx

Hi Shauna, I'm on my second day of not taking them now, and definitely feeling some anxiety.  However, for me I had such bad 'brain fog' and lethargy that I was barely functioning, and I need to be able to think right now as I have a lot going on, & to me nothing is as bad as being in that zombie-like state.  I think its very much a case of everyone has different tolerances and senstitives to these meds, - I thought at first because I was on such a low dose I might be imagining it, but I don't think that now. I'm sorry I don't know about the other meds suggested, but hope things improve for you & you find a solution. LInda x
