i used to be on gabapentin and you need to come off it bit by bit and not just stop. Even when i decreased from 3600 mg a day i did it one tablet at a time over weeks. the last one i halved and took for a week then halved it daily for yet another week.

These things are so addictive its unreal . There are side effects but i was lucky , as i was able to push through it. Good luck and stay focused . youll get through it too

Babs on here is the best one to ask if you do need any advice on what these tablets are capable of

    regards

In a word, yes. You've only been on it a short time so usually stopping the med in the first couple of weeks will cause fewer problems, you're also on a low dose. It's normally recommended to slowly get off gab to avoid problems and bad withdrawal. However, the only way to do this is to drop to 100 mg twice a day (which may cause some withdrawal), use liquid gab or titrate (dissolve the capsule's contents in water, remove 10%, and take that dose). No-one can predict if you'll have problems or what kind they'll be, but if it's been only a few days it's unlikely to have any serious problems. But you have to decide that.

Three years ago I was on 2700 mg/day, just a week ago, after VERY slowly tapering 100 mg usually every 6-16 weeks, I'm done with the drug. But I accept that there'll be withdrawal. I don't like it, but it's worth it to get off the drug.

This is your choice, read up on the drug and do what you feel comfortable with.
