I have been on 100mg in morning and 200 at night 4 months then changed to

300 at night as I was getting too tired. Within 4 days I was floaty, sweaty, itchy tingling skin

Nausea and feeling awful. Stated decreasing 3 days ago now on 100 at night

With plan to decrease over the next 2 weeks.

Does anyone have any ideas on how long I should be getting withdrawl issues,

Thank you all

I had taken 300 mg, 3 times a day for 11 years.  It worked very well controlling severe muscle spasms after a cervical fusion.  A year ago, I went from 900 mg to 600 mg with no problems.  I had a treatment by a pain specialist, called a RFA which had a good result.  I dropped down to 500 mg in January with no problem.  So I was planning a vacation in June.  I tried to cut back another 100 mg.  I went 3.5 weeks feeling horrible.  Nausua, insomnia and a buzzy head which wouldn't go away.  I checked with my pain Doctor.  He told me to go back to 600 mg which allowed me to sleep while in Colorado.  I am now trying to go back to the 500mg.  100mg at 2pm and 400mg at bedtime.

Don't try this without discussing it with your doctor.

I'm scared now that I've felt the severe withdrawal symptoms.  I will see the doctor on the 17th.  If he recommends going back up I will find an addiction specialist to help me end taking this scary drug.

    Good Luck!  Keep me posted!

Hi Adkin.Unfortunately it varies with everyone.I started Gabapetin about 5 months ago starting at 200mg going up to 600mg,along with Mirtazapine 15mg going up to 30mmg and Tramadol 50mg twice a day while being weaned off of Paxil 20mg twice a day which I had been taking for almost 20 years. It was for IBS with related back pain and anxiety/depression because my stress level has gone up over the last 8 months because of job and other related issues. It's been not fun and it's hard to tell what is affecting what.I would hope eventually I even out.Prayers your way and hang in there! God Bless You,Bob

Adkin, just as side effects vary in type and intensitiy, in each individual, so does the response to withdrawal. To avoid negative symptoms I took many months to wean myself off and gave my body up to a month to adjust between each 50 mg reduction. I don't advise anyone to do this on their own but my doctor wouldn't acknowledge the damaging side effects (which reversed once I stopped) and was of no help. I had to do a lot of research to learn how to do it safely. Hopefully you have a doctor who can monitor you as you wean off it. Good luck and be safe.
