HI NINA , DOCTORS WERE HAVING TROUBLE GETTING HOLD OF THE MAKE OF MY PATCHES FOR THE LAST WEEK AND THEN HAD NONE LEFT , BUT WHAT WAS PLAYING ON MY MIND WAS THE RISK OF BREAST CANCER AND KEPT READING WHEN OVER THE AGE OF 60 WE SHOULD BE USING NATURAL PRODUCTS , AND WHEN I TALKED TO MY DOCTORS HE JUST SAID ITS UP TO ME AND GAVE ME KNOW OTHER ADVICE , BUT NOW I AM WONDERING WAS IT THE RIGHT WAY TO GO .

I have not yet seen any current research that proves that using transdermal oestradiol over the age of 60 causes breast cancer - quite the opposite. Some drs are still believing the flawed WHI research of years ago, when premarin and provera were given to women past the age of menopause and without symptoms. Of course, it caused problems. But, it is best you do your own reading of research.

I am 68 still using either oestradiol pellets or patches and absolutely need it. When the pellets start running out or I forget to put a patch on the symptoms are severe.

Young women who have not ever used hrt also get breast cancer, even those who live a healthy lifestyle. If your genetic/dna makeup is prone to breast cancer you are going to get it no matter what. Using oestradiol, you are protecting yourself from heart disease, osteoporosis and other health issues.
