Coming off mirt

Posted , 5 users are following.

Hi, I have been on mirt since July with slow increases to now 30mg so around 1-2 months on 30mg from 7.5mg-15mg-22.5mg-30mg.

What would be the best way to come off it to drop to 15mg? Should I go straight to 22.5mg tonight for a week then 15? Look forward to your responses.

No Ryan I wouldn't drop that much. These pills are very addictive.

    Hey Ryan,

I believe the 10% dose reduction is t he best way to go. I think its 10% until stabilitization or per month. Someone on here will know and post. I wouldn't cut any corners. The d/c effects are rough. I went from 15mg to 0mg in roughly 2 weeks. I wouldn't recommend it. At 7 weeks off i have rebound everything: insomnia, anxiety, depression, agorophobia. And I have put on 5lbs since I stopped. Good luck. Keep posting.

The group I'm in Ryan recommend reducing 5% every 2-4 weeks. I know you haven't been on it that long but slowly is better. Big drops and you will suffer.

Hi I was 15 mg for a few months then increased it 45 mg for say 7 months, I stopped taking them against my doctors will, I hated feeling emotionless, losing my True personality, heard your body doesn't heal up as good etc on them with injuries etc and 100% killed my sex drive I'm hoping my sex drive returns ? I cut a quarter off my 45 mg pill so I was taking roughly 30 mg for say a month then I cut my 45mg pill in halves so roughly taking 22.5 mg for 2 weeks then cut it in 3rds and was taking 15 mg for nearly 2 weeks then stopped, I had zero side effects only issue was it was hard getting used to sleeping with no help from Mirtazapine. I feel so much better off the s**t. I've taken it 3 times in my life last time was on it 2 years I just stopped abruptly and had major sleep problems and think Even nightmares. I'm looking into starting Ready calm or redi night. Any one know of these ?

Thank's for all your responses, everyone. I have just started 22.5mg and will continue this for 2-3weeks and drop to 15mg? What is the best way to go about this? I have been on 30mg for 6 weeks but started on 7.5mg in July then August 15mg September 22.5 and 30mg mid-October. Surely i wont have too many withdrawals
