coming off my sertraline

Posted , 3 users are following.

under the advice of my GP, i have been tapering off my 150mg sertraline dose since september 2021. i decreased my dose in 25mg increments, with roughly a month inbetween each decrease.

on monday, i took my final 25mg sertraline dose. i'm now dealing with withdrawals such as:

-pounding headaches that come and go

-dizziness

-nausea

-muscle aches

-hightened anxiety and suicidal thoughts

-being unable to stay asleep

i have read online that coming off sertraline may cause seizures. i have quite severe medical anxiety and really struggle with the possibility/thought of something like that happen to me.

honestly i couldnt deal with all the stress, anxiety and sleep deprivation ive not had a proper nights sleep in over 4 days and am now starting to struggle. i took another 25mg does of sertraline to settle my nerves.

how am i supposed to cone off my medication? is there any way to get doses of 12.5mg which i could continue to taper off with?

im open to advice and suggestions. honestly im just struggling loads

TIA,

tish 😃

hey I know that sertraline doesn't come in anything smaller then 25mg but I know a lot of people have cut the tablet in half to get 12.5mg. Hope that helps. I know you can buy a pill cutter at a pharmacy. My meds come in capsules so I can't cut them. take care
