Coming off sertraline

Hi I been on sert for about two years. The last 6 months I've felt fine and ready to come off the tablets. I completely stopped getting anxiety. At first when I reduced them I felt great better then I did when I was on them. Recently it took s complete different turn. I'm really anxious, tired, feel low and don't want to be at work. I really don't want to go back on them I really want to come off them. However this feeling is awful ! Anyone else experienced this ? Is this just normal withdrawal ?

Hi gem, I'm in the process of coming off too and feel just like you currently. What dosage are you taking now? I'm on 25mg a day from 50mg x

Yeah I was on 50mg too. I did try cold turkey but felt horrendous lol so I've started taking 25 mg hopefully that picks up my mood slightly

How long did you try cold turkey before you went back to 25mg? Try and stay on that for one month and every second day. Has your doc not advised you?

I would say go slow. Give yourself time to adjust to each new dosage. Today was a more positive day for me which gives me hope!

I didn't go docs but you are right, I've been looking up about it on the Internet and going slow is key ! So I've started taking the 25 mg and I feel I can cope again, Probs keep on that until after Christmas as I know work will be manic ! Then try reduce again after that
