coming off sertraline

HI, im looking abit of advice please, ive been on 50mg of sertraline for depression and anaxity  for a year now and ive started to wean off them by skipping 1 every 2 or 3 days for a week now im feeling abit anxious as im affraid of the side affects ill get if any ..i dont want to sound silly but can anyone tell me if theres a better way to do it and is there things or anything i can do to avoid the side afects and how long will they last please?

    There is definitely a better way! You should really consult your doctor for instructions. The doctor would likely give you a lower dose to try everyday for a month or something and then keep decreasing the dose. I think you should be careful skipping days on 50mg

      thank you lauren for getting back to me..im feeling abit light headed today i think thats a side affect ...i will see my doctor about a lower dose but can you get lower than 50mg?

      Yes for sure. There is 25mg and some brands I think may have smaller

    Hi, I also am trying to reduce my 50mg, the advise given on this forum is to cut down by 10% each month.

    For the last 2 months I've just been biting off the tip of my 50mg sertraline and taking the rest. I know it's not accurate but I've been ok, with the odd blips.

    I hope in mid jan I can cut down to half the tablet, but I'm a bit scared 😳
