Hi I'm very keen to come off too, I'm on 50 and feel dead inside, much worse than when I was put on it, which was for anxiety primary. Did you stop abruptly or taper it? Thanks Ros

50mg probably isnt going to be enough. It wasnt for me. I had to go up to 100mg

ros ... NEVER stop abruptly on ANY MED.  Very bad.  Taper off.  Talk to your doctor.  Good luck.

I don't understand why doctors (is yours a pyschopharmacologist?) give Sertraline for anxiety????   It's for DEPRESSION.  When I was  first RX'd Sertraline years ago, my psychiatrist told me to take Ativan for Anxiety which worked very well.  I'm on Lorazepam now as Ativan (the brand) is way too expensive.  There are problems finding a GOOD brand of Lorazepam now (one which delivers the true anxiety reducing result).  BUT Sertraline is not primarily for anxiety.  Good luck.

Really happy to hear that Richard, some people have a bit of a nightmare coming off sertaline. How long where you on sertaline? How do you feel about your underlying condition coming off sertaline?

Im in a good place now. I was on sertraline for 1 year. I have taught myself to be more positive and not worry about everything. And at work if i cant get something done that day because the day is up then i just say to myself It will have to wait until monday, or the next day.bosses wont think anymore of you for pushing yourself too hard and making yourself ill. Yo have to put yourself first. Having no anxiety will make you a more efficient employee anyway. I tappered off the sertraline

Im always going to get anxiety but i now know how to handle it better. That is the key. When you feel like that it is time to come off the tablets

Really good to hear a positive story, sounds like you used the meds to get over the worse of it all.did you suffer from depression aswell? Did you apply the positive thinking yourself, or with the help of a therapist?

Sorry about all the questions, just interested 😊

Hi just wanted to let you know about my experience.i was put on sertraline about 7 mths ago. I didn't have any side effects when starting but I've cut down & had none for 8 days now. Withdrawal symptoms have been awful but they are all physical. Mentally I feel better than I have in ages. I was lucky to have counselling through my work. The counsellor helped me work through my feelings so I decided I didn't want to keep taking a drug. I lost my mum very suddenly then my mother in law soon after so lost a lot of my support network but I've realised I need to feel grief & sometimes it's good to have a cry. It's natural. I'm taking things a day at a time but I feel better that I'm taking control & deciding my own feelings & moods for whatever life throws at me.

Sorry to hear that. My symptoms are also only physical. Hope they pass soon. What symptoms are you having?

Hi. My symptoms have been dizziness, nausea, dry mouth & what people call brain zaps. The first week was the worst as I had these as well as constantly feeling spaced out almost like I was drunk. It's settled now except for the dizziness & brain zaps. Another strange thing is I can't seem to sit still. My house has never been so clean (not sure this is a bad thing) on a serious note the most important thing for me is psychology I feel very good & in control of my life.
