Coming off the sertraline

Posted , 5 users are following.

I stumbled on this group when  I googled coming off sertraline.

ive been on sertraline for almost 3 years. Started on 50mg, went up to 100mg  then 200mg then down to 100mg. I've found them to be very good but recently I've been thinking of reducing & then coming off.

I've found this forum very helpful. Up untill now I didn't think I had any side effects! However! On reading other posts I find I have.  I get restless legs, I've put lots of weight on, I do have dizzy spells sometimes & headaches. Also recently I've noticed that I don't want to do anything. I feel like I have no feelings - like a robot- just  nothing. I don't feel depressed hence why I think it's a good time to come off the tablets as I don't think I need them anymore. Sorry if this sounds like I'm rambling

I wonder if the cough might be a blood pressure medication. I know what you mean about 'nothing' - I have been in bed all day and evening, and am about to go back there - not depressed or fed up - just can't be bothered. I have been on it for 2 years, and recently decreased to 100mg.  I try not to read to much into days like today; I had a hard-ish week at work, and was quite sociable last weekend, so I take a day today to be a rest-day.

I didn't take your post to be ramling, btw - but even if it felt like it was to you, would there be a better place to do it? smile Best wishes to you.

That's how I've been today. I'm not on any other medication  tho. Think I'll see doctor next week & drop dose to 50mg. I know I'm not depressed. It's like my mind is saying yeah lets do this & my body is detached & I have that can't be bothered feeling as you say. Hope you better soon too x

I know what you mean..I am weaning off sertraline at the moment..supposedly took my last 25mg last Thursday..I want to come off themy & stay off them & am glad to b at this stage but i do feel so tired & don't want to do anything..very tired. My emotions were definitely numbed while I was on them...my at  mum died in June & I feel I sailed through the funeral etc in a kind of daze..even tho I was only on 50mg at that stage it was obviousy dulling everything.  I'm a bit worried now cos going on hols next Sat when I will have been 8 days off Sertraline so hope I will be ok..u are not rambling Isa & hope I'm not either..it's good to talk!! Just remember to come off them very slowly..I am doing so with my gp's help
