Coming off Tramadol

So I have been taking tramadol for 3 years now and I am ready to stop. I told my doctor today that I think I have a problem and I'm addicted. I meet with him tomorrow. What types of medication do they give to help with the withdrawals?

    If you dont want to take extra medication, to come off the medication, lower the dosage ever so slightly(if tab form, but a bit off at a time, if capsule; empty some of the grains out) , make the changes weekly,you will still notice it, but not so much if you were to stop by a whole tablet.  Do not go cold turkey, there is no point being commando about it, just ease back.  Can I assume you are no longer in pain??
