coming off zopiclone

I have been taking zopiclone for around 6 months, first i got 2 week supply 3.75 mg of the doctor, then upped to 7.5mg a night, they would only let me have a few weeks before they stopped letting me have them, due to my recent open heart surgery, plus they dont like prescribing them any more .
I ended up buying my own online and now take 3 x 7.5 mg a night and even this dose is stopping working, i have a friend who is on 5 x 7.5 a night. now its been six months since my heart op and i am more or back to normal, i am going to quit the tablets when they run out and try and overcome my insomnia with excecise ect.. has anyone got any good advise for me, re withdrawel symptems etc

The symptoms are not good with vivid dreams and I feel dozy in the daytime. I am also suffering with the after effects of sciatica and cannot separate the feelings currently. My doctor gave me some diazepam which I must say has helped the feelings of coming off zopiclone and also the back ache as it relaxes muscles. I know I cannot be on those for long
but am proud not to have taken zopiclone for over 2 weeks even though I feel lousy. I cannot go back on them as it will be such a backward step and I don't really trust internet buys although even that is becoming more difficult with many drugs not being allowed in the country. I would be interested knowing how you are coping Mark and what your feelings are. I must also say I am on 30 mg of mirtazapine which taken last thing helps me sleep. These are prescribed with the doctors blessing and are not addictive so I believe!

This is my 6th night off them,, i am not sleeping well at all, 1st night 1.5 hours, second night, not one min at all, 3rd, 4th, 5th nights drifting in and out of sleep up every other hour, diffecult to say how much sleep, probably grabbing half an hour here and there, I am booked in with the Doctor on 3rd feb, not really suffering any bad withdrawral symptoms that i am aware of at the moment. You are right in what you say about your driving licence, this was one of the reasons why i packed in taking them,
