Coming up 2 two weeks after

Had my left thr nearly two weeks ago now droped my down now only thing i have is a paracetamol and naproxen in the morning and at night i think they may be reduced down soon as well. Was a bit sore after the surgery struggling to get in and out but that only lasted a couple of days. Went shopping at the week end as well just tired me out more than anything had a nap aftarward that sorted it out the most annoying thing i find is having to sleep on my back hopefully that will be lifted at the end of the month. Not sure if the recovery rate is down to my age or the fact i have had a trail hip fitted that comes with a buffer inbetween and is inserted laterally not sure going for my dressing removed tomorrow see how much hair comes off when they pull it 😞

Sounds like you are making a good speedy recovery Dominic. I couldn't have gone shopping at 2 weeks. I found recovery was a roller coaster ride. Week 3 was my worst and if I over did things I paid a price next couple of days.
Different parts hurt at different times. Now entering week 6. Energy levels returning and can do most things unaided.
Just don't rush things. We all want to be back to normal but it does take time. You have had major surgery. Take care. Sandra.

How I wish so many other forum members had a Dr as sensible as yours, oucccchhhh to the sticking plaster removal, hopefully will not be as painful as i fear it might be, sometimes its good to be a girl.

sounds good to me too - except the hairy thing ... how big is the dressing????
I am so puzzled about the differences regarding restrictions post-op THR surgery .. stockings, no stockings, shower, no shower until staples removed, and the only sleeping on back versus sleeping on side ...
I was allowed to sleep on unoperated side on 2nd night post-op - I was shown how to put pillow between my knees, how to turn with pillow in place -
it was important though to lie on my back during the day for at least 30 minutes -
like said many times already, we heal at our own rate - so no comparing to others -
you are TWO WEEKS, 14 DAYS post-op darling .... amazing that you already went shopping !!!
big warm hug

Ha ha. I used to have to get up just to stretch a few times in the night. My party trick was to drop the crutches. Causing an almighty clatter and husband was not only awake but had to get up to retrieve them.
For better or worse Dominic. 😃😃😃

You mention might sweats, they are horrible, thought it was only me. I hate bed time as I just can't get comfortable, and sleep just won't come. But I am only 9 days post op and reading all the comments each night helps keep me going.

Night sweats are just one of the horrible things we go through, like sleepless nights, TEDs (they should be reclassified as a form of medical torture
) - as Renee says, see my website for common complications and useful tips from other hippies on this forum, the website address is in my personal info here ...
