    Hi,

I have the same problem, had it for many years, probably after bronchiectisis op in late 1960s. what have you found out? It have been on ciprofloxin for 6 months but still as bad, or worse.

anything you have found would be appreciated.

My doc hates putting me on Cipro because he's afraid that eventually it will stop working.  It's funny.....he has 2 bronchiectasis patients only and we both came in within 24 hours of each other.  We experienced a very long rain over weeks, every day.  We had a leak....I'm wondering about mold.  Ever hear anything about mold with this?

This is for all who is fighting with bronchiectasis and pseudomonas like me.

all are nature things and proven by research.

it is not expensive even you can get free. it is my own experience.

1.inhale eucalyptus oil. it has so many good things for lungs and antibacterial activity you will feel better instantly as me.

2.take Adhatoda vasica also called vasaka it has antibacterial activity against pseudomonas, this is has been confirmed by NIH and several research (google for "Adhatoda vasica pseudomonas" ). without loosing our body health (taking antibiotic) we can fight with pseudomonas.

3.take cumin ,licorice, thyme. all these are good for lungs funtion every leaf has it own benefit google for these name you get the details.

currenly i am trying few more herbs i will update it soon

What is vasaka and where would I get it? Hopefully it can be sourced in South Africa.

I also started taking supplements and have noticed a big improvement in my shortness of breath. I have bronchiectasis.

This time of the year, Im usually miserable. I cough, wheeze, congested and short of breath which causes low energy.

But, after reading what other people for doing on this website, for the past two weeks, I've had little to no SOB and more energy than I've had in months.

      From this website:

I had my specialist put me on a low amount of aznithromycin

(antibiotic). I take 250mg every other day.

I take a teaspoon of Manuka Honey every day.

I take Turmeric with ground pepper twice a day.

These all either have anti-inflammatory or antibiotic properties.

I still use my nebulizer, vest and flutter valve every day as well. I stay as active as I can.

I am hoping that this improvement will be on going.

I may try eucaluptus oil and check into the Adhatoda vasica (which I not sure what it is).

      Beth

I'm thinking 'outside the box', than relying on taking another med.

I am 66 and have had lung issues for 27 yrs. It has gotten a little worse each year.

It was advised to take pepper with the turmeric to up the effectiveness of the turmeric.  I buy the turmeric in capule form and drink it down with juice with pepper in the juice. 1000mg of turmeric twice a day. Thats about half a teaspoon. I don't know if thats too much or not.  I may try to lower the amount.

I have not had the issue of aches and pains.  I know there are several other people on this website that do.

Hi, Elizabeth, I'm 67 and have broncoectasis since the age of 38.pseudomonas since the last 7 years. I believe it is important to support the body taking supplements ike you do. I tried many things but nothing took away the pseudomonas. I will nowtry cannabis oil (thc) it seems this could help. I will let you know.  I am also waiting for a experimental treatment with bacteriophages. But waiting for news from the researchers as well...in the meanwhile I go on with my teatment like mot o you do. I'm very glad not to experience aches and pain. Just a lot ofcoffing, phlem and temperatur every day, which s very exhausting. I wish you all the best and encourage you taking turmeric, pepper, natural cocosoil, aloe vera etc.....take care Christianne

      Christianne,

I have heard that cannabis oil helps.  I live in the states and only a few states (not the one I live in) have legalized the use of cannabis for medical use.  I'm too scared to get illegally, I know I would get busted.rolleyes

Please, keep us updated on your results.

Staying as health as possible: eat healthy, exercise, etc,as you said, is important.

To Debbie and Pink Snugsy - I just saw this now and want to know if you are both till fatigued and achey and tired and pains etc????  You are both 48 now - just wondering whether you've had a bone density test - when i was around 50 and into that menopausal stage I felt the same in fact I felt horrible and come to find out I had severe osteoporosis and those symptoms can be what u describe.   Just wanted to mention that because when u have other things going on like the BX and other lung issues it takes over your life and you forget other parts of your body.  So if you haven't checked and can have that test that's something you should do.  My bones were in such bad state I had to go on the bad drugs for osteoporosis but they did help.  Also my thyroid was way low too at the same time and maybe that can make tiredness and fatigue.

Hopefully you are still not experiencing those problems but if you are then maybe look into something else and not assume it's the BX or Pseud. etc. etc. You are the right age for all that 'stuff' to happen.

dear, yes somehow i agreed to you. Iam also apatient of bronchiectasis3 years before doctors told me that i have lost (dameged) my 60% lungs before it diagnosed. As you people know damaged lungs provide very suitable palce for bacterias colonization. i am taking medicine, nebulization and beathing exercise on daily basis. but herbs can do amazing work. i am taking a big glass of warm water (in empty somach) withe pinch of turmeric powder, one tablespoon of ginger juice and one tablespoon of honey. I also used to take licorice. These things help a lot and improve lungs performance. I never tried cumin for this purpose. but now i will surely try thyme and cumin also. thanks Gianet you gave me courag to share my experience. i just want to ask one thing is it true that dairy diet can trigger the production of mucus?

HI Gianet! How do you inhale the eucalyptus oil? Do you put it in boiling water or just in a diffuser? Many thanks

      Hi Christianne!

I wonder if the oil helped you? As well did you try the bacteriophage therapy? I have been in touch with a clinic in Ceorgia that specialize in this and need to send them sputum samples, but have to be off antibiotics for at least 7 days.

      Thanks
