Feeling dizzy for 3 weeks now

Hi

I'm Jay 24 yrs. old.

Last July 22, 2016 @10 am and 15 minutes after taking a bath I felt this slight dizziness came out of nowhere, I feel as if I was on a boat ride (swinging from side to side) so it sent me lying in bed but that didn't help, it goes on for almost 1 week then @July 28, 2016 (Thursday) I went to a local hospital with an outpatient clinic, the nurse asked me to wait for the Doctor for at least 30 minutes, so he told me to sit and relax for at least 15 minutes so he can check the BP, after 15 minutes he took my BP and it was 160/90. Another 15 minutes later the Doctor came in and he took my BP again it was still @160/90, he asked what I feel and I told him that I've been feeling dizzy for almost a week now, he also asked me if there are any history of heart problems in the past and I told him no that this was my first time having such a high BP but in the past there was some times that I have a BP of 140/80 but didn't feel dizzy at all, he also asked if there was someone in the family that has any hearts problems and I said there is and that almost in my father's side, my brother, my uncles, my aunties all suffers from having a high BP's. He also asked if I fought someone or I'm stressed during that week and I said I don't have much sleep for almost a week and a week before the dizziness started. He said that the dizziness may cause of a too much high BP or a vertigo. So he scheduled me for a medical test ECG, blood test, urinalysis but need to do this the next day because I need to be fasting after dinner but for now he made me drink one tablet of a 16mg of Betahistine (SERC) and come back after 1 hour, after 1 hour he took my BP and from 160/90 to 150/90 so it dropped 10 points but still high, he said to go home and tak a rest for now so I can take the medical test the next day. Unfortunately the next day (July 29, Friday was having a bad weather, all heavy rains, the streets are flooded so I can't risk going out and catching a cold so instead I decided to just take a rest, taking 1 tablet of 16mg Betahistine @8am and another @6pm.

Then @July 30, 2016 Saturday I went to the outpatient clinic again to talk to the Doctor but he wasn't there, instead I asked the nurse to take my BP again and its 110/80 then knowing there was no appointment during Saturdays and Sundays I went home with a bit of  relief knowing that my BP came back to normal.

Then @August 1, 2016 I went to resume the medical test (fasted the night before) they took Blood test first, Urinalysis, and ECG last. The results will come out after 1 hr  so I went to find a cardio specialist to make an appointment, the nurse told me to wait at least 1 more hour for the doctor to arrive, for the meantime she made me rest at least 15 minutes then took my BP it was 130/90 the BP probably went up due to walking and climbing stairs. Since the Dr. will arrive after 1 hour I go eat some breakfast instead.

After 1 hour I go back to medical laboratoy again to get my results, then they have this list of normal range in the chart....some of my results were high and lows such as.

Uric Acid: 7.4

Normal Range: 3.4 - 7.0

Triglycerides: 175.5

Normal Range: 0.0 - 150.0

HDL: 33.0

Normal Range: 35.0 - 55.0

LDL: 120

Normal Range: 0 - 115

ALT (SGPT): 55

Normal Range: 0.0 - 41.0

All the other results such as CBC and ECG are normal.

Seeing and reading all this kinda makes me feel nervous, so I quickly go the cardio specialist, made me rest at least 15 mins then he took my BP and its 140/100.

He asked me how do I feel and what's the problem, I told him that I've been feeling dizzy for 1 week now and I've been prescribe by the the Dr. at the outpatient clinic with a 16 mg SERC and been taking them for almost 2 days now, and I also said that I feel nervous after seeing the results, he asked "Why feel nervous?" and I said "because of the results that are not normal" he then said "This are nothing to worry about, just a small points high and small points low" he also read the ECG results and he said it's completely normal which kinda gives me the relief.

For now though he said to avoid eating junk foods, softdrinks, and fast foods, basically foods that are high in cholesterol and sodium content.

He prescribed an increase of dosage in from 16mg to 24 mg of SERC and he said to take it at least 1 week, been taking it from August 1 and been feeling a bit better, then I stopped last August 12.

However, the swinging feelings is gone but itsreverse this time, whenever I walk it feels as if some is pulling the back of my head, I've been anxious since then, having bad thoughs, etc. that maybe I some sort of a serious disease, even worse I think that maybe I have a tumor or that I'm dying or something...

I'm planning in seeing an ENT and a Neurologist, and getting an Xray, and a CT Scan as well.

TBH I don't feel my life is normal anymore, the dizziness is not as severe as other people but it's just so disturbing.

I would definitely feel relief with the cardio specialist telling you there is nothing to worry about.

I know the dizziness is scary but try and relax and listen to your Dr.

If you don't start feeling better soon then you can check back in wit them.

It'll be alright , please keep us posted on how you are feeling.

Yes you're right, whenever I feel dizzy I think of something else and it makes me nervous, I guess it runs in my family to be a worrier, my father's side are mostly worriers.

This just means you have predisposition to having cholesterol. Change your diet and you should be fine.

Last night I have another attack, I take another 24mg of SERC and after a few minutes its subtle, after a few hours I feel better. I think it's listening to the meds so if it's something else the meds won't take effect.

I also notice that whenever I look at the small letters in my computer screen my eyes is playin catch up, can't seem to focus much as well.

    Any ideas?

Hi Jay I also have that problem lately!!!

      It's soooo blurry .

You need to get your eyes checked but it also happens with dizziness.

      Hi

There is a small sty that appeared at the upper eyelid in my right eye, not sure if this also affects the vision.

A sty is just like having a whitehead pimple, it shouldn't affect your vision unless it's large.

Yesterday I stumbled upon a post where one user recommended the epley maneuver, I searched it on Youtube and found one or two video, I looked into the comment and it would seems there are plenty of positive feedback and success stories about it so I tried the maneuver at home, a few hours later I feel a bit better but I can still feel the rocking feeling just a little bit, today when I woke up I feel much better now there is still some rocking feeling though but it's not as bad as before and my vision is little by little returning to normal. I've also done some cyling which also helps a lot about my anxiety and trauma for the past 3 weeks, I'm still taking 24mg SERC and a multivitamin since I figured that I may just lack of nutrients such as Vit D, B12, and Magnesium and my current multivitamin seems to cover them all including iron. I may have deficiency with one or two of them because for this last 6 months I drastically changed my normal diet to a more vegetarian type, this cause my body to look more skinny now but the effect is bad, I changed my diet so fast that my body wasn't able to adapt and so it probably cause this vertigo problem.

I'm also giving myself plenty of rest since I've been having insomonia and lack of sleep since the symtpom started to trigger due to anxiety, depression, and stress, all this might also be the reason why my BP shoots so high at one time, and I learned that lack of sleep, stress, and axiety is going to affect your BP.

I'm now feeling better, I can see the changes from day 1 to now and I can really tell I feel much better now, for the past 3 weeks it was hell, well it wasn't as severe as some people having room spinning, etc. but any person who feels discomfort especially in the head is a very bad experience and it may take awhile for us to recover from the trauma.

I hope and pray that this is going to be a continous healing process until I'm fully recovered and hopefully this hellish experience is not going to ever come back in my life.

I wanted to live a healthy and long lifestyle from now on, until I reached my 80's.

    Godbless

Thanks for the tip, I will also try the Epley maneuver next time I get vertigo as I get the room spinning saga, that keeps me from functioning like a normal person. Hope it all goes well with you. God Bless.

It's been 1 month and a half week now since the day that the lightheadedness started.

Now I'm feeling 80% better than before, can't really explain what causing the lightheadedness but I have yet to visit an ENT, and a Neurologist if I don't get 100% better because even a slightest feeling of lightheadedness that won't go away for another few weeks means there is still something wrong around somewhere in my body.
