“Bisoprolol is in a group of drugs called beta-blockers. Beta-blockers affect the heart and circulation (blood flow through arteries and veins). Bisoprolol is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure)”.

It slows heart rate and regulates heart beat. I used to take them for anxiety and exercised (ran on treadmill) - if feel faint or have pain or feel otherwise unwell when doing any exercise, stop what you’re doing, rest until you improve. If you do not or get worse - seek help.

I’m 59 years old, had a mild heart attack a year last Dec and on 5mg Bisoprolol (for hypertension). Since my heart attack I have gradually increased my level of exercise and now doing regular treadmill, circuit training once a week and jogging a weekly 5km parkrun without any problems.

      Hi Peter,

      Thanks for your reply

I much appreciate it. I have spoken to my doctor but I wanted to hear from someone working out. I,m feeling more confident now.
