blood work, mild elevated AST

Hello all,

I recently had blood work done and my doctor told me everything came back ok. But now I am looking at the paperwork and it tells me my ranges and then also the normal ranges. What concerns me is my AST level. It shows it as 66 and then it says normal range as (15-37). Should I be concerned even though my doctor told me everything came back ok?

I am a 23 year old female.

Most doctors will consider triple the normal range for there to be a problem. Have you hit your liver recently or had and trauma to it?

I don't think its 3 times the normal limit but yes last year I had inflammation and was treated and then everything went back to normal. But what I don't understand is the doctor told me my blood work was fine

You need to make Telephone appointment with your doctor and ask him why he has told you your AST is normal when it is outside the normal range. If there is anything on the paperwork I do not understand this is what I always do.
