Taking Asacol not sure if i need to take steroids too

Hi

I am currently taking Asacol suppositories. It has reduced episodes of bleeding and mucus but i stil have it every other day. Doctor prescribed Steeoids but said to take asacol suppositories first see how i get on. if im still getting episodes of bleeding with mucus does that mean i have to take steroids too? I have ulcerative colitis proctitis. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi how long have you been using the Asacol? The first time I glared with Proctosis I used Messalasine and it took about 8 weeks for it to clear. Perhaps ask your doctor about the timeframe.

      Hi Ruth i went to see my Gp today he advised me to start the steroids. it has been 10 days since taking the suppositories. He has told me to stop them.
