Bunion Surgery: Before & After X-Ray Picture. Was it successful?

Posted , 6 users are following.

I'm 6 weeks post-op and after looking at my before and after X-Rays, I'd really like opinions/thoughts on if you believe this was a successful surgery. From the outside, my foot looks good with the bump removed. However, I was expecting my metatarsal to be shifted closer to the second metatarsal to prevent future rubbing.

I'm worried that the same problem is going to occur and a new bunion will form over the years...

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Chel

HI Chel.  I'm not very good at reading X-rays, nor am I qualified to give a medical opinion.  However, both of your pictures look the same to me.  sad

    Hi Chel

I compared both X-Rays and I noticed the screw and a minor improvement in your toe, infinitesimal really.. so I too have serious doubts about this surgical intervention..

    Hi Chel,

I’m currently struggling with your fears - years after my operation the bunions have returned with greater severity. My pin was actually located higher in my foot and not near the toe the way yours is, and I feel that if mine were pinned there it would not have returned. Either way, I’d love an update! Best of luck!
