Common anxiety symptom?

Posted , 2 users are following.

Can anxiety cause the feeling like your throat is very tight, that you feel like you might choke or gag, by the sensation where it feels like something is stuck inside your throat, blocking the airway passage? I feel like I might die from it, but I'm still here. If it's part of an anxiety symptom, how can I manage to stop overthinking that there might be something wrong with me? I would really appreciate anyone to help me out. I hate this feeling so much.

yes, the feeling of tight throat, something stuck in your throat is very very common with anxiety! You have to keep telling yourself that because it’s the truth. Millions of people have that same symptom with anxiety. There is no way something is blocking your airway because you wouldn’t be able to breathe!

The thing is you are overthinking this and when you do that you create more symptoms! You need to learn how to breathe properly when you have anxiety!

Get on YouTube and search for meditations for breathing! There are hundreds of them. Pick one out that is maybe 10 minutes or 15 minutes long, get comfortable and listen to it! Listen several times a day and when you go to sleep until it becomes a habit.

once you start doing this, your symptoms will go away.

Do other things to relax yourself also and stay busy with other things so you don’t focus on it. Actually what I find really takes my mind off of my anxiety is when I do things for other people! It takes the focus off of myself and I’m actually helping someone.

i don’t think you want to go on for years in years thinking there’s something in your throat. That would be a waste of your life. Now is the time to end The overthinking so you can enjoy your life. Don’t let it take control over you! Be strong!
