i have started taking a complan shake every day since my most recent flare , i think i saw it suggested somewhere on this forum, and thought it can't hurt. I mix it with water not milk, it is lactalose free and has about 242 calories per sachet.
So far i have only tried the strawberry flavour and chocolate and being a huge chocolate fan, i much prefer the strawberry.Hmmm
It is packed with vitamins and minerals and so far no adverse side effects, it has kind of saved me from starvation at work as school dinners arn't exactly catered to my extreme bland diet.
it's worth a try, the weight has been dropping off, but i would like to stop the tummy grumbling and sometimes buscapan just doesn't touch it.

I am so tied of rushing to the loo at a minutes notice and sometimes not quite making it in time.
I think we have all been in that place.
Thanks T.

I know the plain diet is boring but if it stops the loo visits i will do it till the cows come home. I also have thyroid disease so try avoiding goitrogenous foods.... things like soy, cruciferous veg, tuna, salt.
i found going very plain for a few weeks gluten freepasta (plain), mash, white fish, plain crackers, and just as a little flavouring i would use tomatoe juice from tinned tomatoes, making sure no seeds get in there.
Having 4 or 5 small meals/snacks per day instead of 3 bigger ones. And above all lots of water, you may find it helpful having a satchet of dioralite in a glass of water to replenish electrolytes.
Lots of rest, not that you have much choice when you are in the full grip of a full blown flare.
look after yourself hope things start easing up soon.
