Hi
I have an 8.5cm cyst on my right ovary was found during an ultrasound a month ago, I suffer with heavy painful periods so had been referred to gynae! The specialist has said she is worried about the cyst as it's not a normal fluid filled cyst, she called for blood tests CA125 came back as 30 and haemoglobin low?. These are just some results my doctor had not all were back! I received my app for laparaoscopy/laparotomy/full open depending on what they find when they open me up this was due to be a day surgery home that evening which I was happy with hate hospitals! I was called for a transvaginal ultrasound and an hour after received a phone call saying I had to go in the day before and stay 2 nights having an ecg the day before has anyone else had to do this? It's making me super paranoid 😣😣 the last few days I have also had bad pressure after going for a wee little dribbles of wee and I feel like I'm going to pass a child 😂 and very bad pain in my back has anyone else had this or do I have an infection 😰😰 thanks

Try to relax and not get stressed out, I found stress always made my cysts hurt more! I had complex cysts 10 cm each so a laparoscopy wasn't possible. My laparotomy was like a c section cut. Obviously it's easier recovery wise to have the laparoscopy but my DR due to the nature of the cysts wanted to do it open, which I was fine with since it was the safer option. Dont be too worried about the scans. They like to see the cysts from every position in every format! I had extensive scans in the week leading up to it. One even showed calcification as there was teeth-like materials inside my cysts! Gross I know!! Good luck with it, I'm sure you will be fine xx

Mine was almost 12 weeks ago and I'm still not 100%. Have definitely been improving but it is long and slow! I did have two surgeries through due to complications with the first surgery, so this defnitiely delayed the recovery time. I made little improvements every weeks, by 2 weeks post op I was able to start doing little walks again, building them up to longer ones. I returned to work 5 weeks post op with the Drs approval, but I think this was too soon and I started getting realy swollen every afternoon, which is now only about 3 or 4 afternoons a wee. I was pretty naive thinking the recovery would be easy but it hasn't been. Get the nurses to show you how to get out of bed properly so you aren't putting pressure on the wound. Good luck xx

Hey Sara! No ecg for me yet but I haven't seen the surgeon yet. I also don't know if mine is complex or simple but mine is large.... 12 cm. I'm having lots of back pain and pressure. Having to pee a lot and very thirsty. Also very constipated and nothing seems to be working to relieve that. I see the specialist on Wednesday. Very distressing in the meantime cause I don't know what symptoms are normal. Impossible to see my Dr in the next few days as is thanksgiving weekend here in Canada so would have to go to the hospital emergency. Can't wait until this is all over. I'm scared and don't really know what's going on. Hang in there! Xo
