Complicated, any ideas?

Hello, I have a very complicated case and it is only worsening. I would appreciate any insight or ideas. I am in a place with a very small community. I am starting to consider traveling to the mayo clinic. But I am just not sure, I don't even know what area in the medical field I need to see.

2 years ago I went swimming in some water that made me very sick. I swallowed the water which caused the runs, got rashes everywhere and also managed to get a leech in my belly button. A week after I ended up in urgent care with pelvic pain. They diagnosed me with a bacterial infection and sent me home with antibiotics. On a 2 week cycle, it kept coming back. I have been treated and diagnosed 30+ times with it never "fully" going away. A few months in, the symptoms started evolving. I would get fevers, chills, and joint pain before the pelvic pain would start. The joint pain would be crippling. And would lead to such bad fatigue I have trouble lifting my limbs. I gained 50 pounds in 6 months. Without any change in diet or routine. Over that time span the tests have come back with multiple different strains of bacteria and yeast reading positive. In all honesty, I feel like a melting pot of overgrowth. It responds to the antibiotics and will go away for a short time but always comes back. In that length of time, it feels like it slowly goes further up my abdomen. It starts in my vagina, but then my bladder hurts, and then my entire pelvis feels unbearable. To make this more complicated, a scan showed a cyst. More scans showed more cysts. Different kinds. And a fibroid. I ended up having pelvic surgery in order to remove the cysts in the hopes it would help my pain. I was diagnosed with endometriosis and they tried to burn it all out. The doctor told me it had been there a long time and was too deep to remove all of it. I am now taking a medication that will cause me menopause for a year. To complicate things further, I had more tests come back with a lot of white blood cells in my bladder and my vagina. My doctor diagnosed me with Desquamative inflammatory vaginitis. She says that the tests were picking up on the white blood cells and that there was no actual infection. She has given me repeated steriod creams but it has failed to be successful. The joint has progressed to the point where I have trouble moving certain joints. I feel tingling and numbness. And I have started to get uncontrollable muscle jolts. They happen 20+ times a day. Does anyone have ideas or advice? They have checked for common conditions. There are not many specialists in my state to check for anything very complex. I have no quality of life. I spend more time in urgent care than I do anywhere else.

Whatever bacteria you picked up it may now be in your joints causing arthritis possibly. You may have several different problems with different symptoms or just one basic problem. Was the bacteria ever identified? Maybe you need an infectious disease specialist .

They have found gardnerella vaginalis, strep b, and Ureaplasma urealyticum. As well as Candida parapsilosis.

I went to the one infectious disease doctor in my state. She gave me antibiotics to treat the infections as needed but told me there has to be something wrong with my immune system for my body not to be able to fight them off.

The one immune clinic in my state says it is impossible for an immune disorder to cause vagina infections/pelvic infections. We made them run a few tests and they came back with me very deficient in anti-pneumococcal antibodies. I got the shots in order to raise them however my symptoms didn't improve.

Reactive arthritis? Your symptoms seem to match. Maybe a rheumatologist at the Mayo would be able to help you. You seem to be a complicated case but I do hope you find some relief soon..

Just a thought...do you have a partner/husband ? Does he have any symptoms of any sort? Could you also have picked up an STI somewhere?
